All Spay Neuter Clinic veterinarians perform dog spays. The surgery is performed while the dog is under anesthesia, and your pet will receive an analgesic pain medication after the surgery is complete. The spay surgery price for a dog weighing between 40 and 70 pounds is $103. There is an additional $15 charge for the after-surgery pain medication. There are additional charges if your dog has an enlarged uterus from heat, recent heat, or infection, or is pregnant or obese. The veterinarian will quote possible additional fees at the exam.
If your dog weighs over 70 pounds there is a $2 per pound charge in addition to the base surgery price of $103. For example, the spay surgery cost for a dog who weighs 71 pounds and is not in heat, pregnant, or obese will be $105.
Please call the clinic closest to you to learn the earliest age and latest age at which the veterinarian there will perform the surgery, as most doctors prefer to wait until a puppy is 16 weeks old and require pre-surgical lab work for older dogs (age varies by doctor). The age requirements are in place to ensure your pet is strong enough and healthy enough to undergo anesthesia. You will find the telephone numbers for each of our clinics on the Locations page.
